Have you had a busy summer? Stating that mine was busy would be an understatement! We’re wrapping production this week on all twenty-six thirty minute episodes. We began shooting in April and my schedule has been virtually non-stop. “Empty Nesters” is set to launch this fall and I am anxiously awaiting it’s debut. Word has it that DISH Network has included Veria TV’s channel 9575 to all subscribers with their basic package so the exposure will be broader than before. If you are into healthy living, alternative medicine, life enhancement and more, Veria Television should be on your “must check out” list.

I have had a wonderful time meeting all sorts of fabulous people in my interviews and “field trips” as we like to call them. One segment where I travel into the field has me doing all sorts of antics and endeavors. Would you like to see me scale a thirty-five foot climbing wall and then jump down on a zip line? Umm, let’s just say I am not crazy about heights and you may obtain a glimpse of me with a look of sheer terror on my face as I jump off the platform to “zip”! I know, you adrenaline “junkies” love that kind of thing. Not me. Don’t get me wrong, I love to live vicariously through watching others stretch their “fear” limits, however, when my producers set up my schedule and tell me to show up, well, what could I say? I am also set to wrap up the end of this week with a helicopter ride. Ack! I wonder if there is a homeopathic remedy that can cure me of my anxiety! Other things you’ll see on the show are some fantastically talented people including a Scot fiddler who tried to teach me to play, a bonafide cowgirl teaching me how to rope a fake calf, I explore making my own music video, my daughter and I dance with a few members of a traveling broadway musical and more! Plus, in the rest of the show you’ll learn cool crafting tips, unique nutrition info, fitness moves, and all sorts of wonderful “Wise Women” who have done some pretty amazing things (One swam the English Channel!) You’ll also get a glimpse of my kiddos in cameo appearances.

Other news? I will be speaking in Los Angeles on September 26th in Long Beach at the Healthy Harvest Show so come on out if you are so inclined. My books will be on hand for me to sign if you would like to take one home with you. My “Diet & Detox Healthy Weightloss and Lifestyle” class series will start up again in the Fall. Stay tuned for announcements. Yet, if you can’t wait, I am offering my program “virtually” for individuals who want a head start on feeling and looking better before September. Go to my site and drop me a line through my contact page. I would love to hear from you here or via email!

Laura’s Healthy Living Tip: Do you have dark circles under your eyes? Watermelon is wonderful for your kidneys. When your kidneys aren’t “happy” dark circles may appear under your eyes. Drink plenty of water and then try my watermelon trick. Buy a big, ripe watermelon and munch on it over several days. If you are into juicing, “juice” your watermelon with seeds. Apparently the seeds are known to have a diuretic effect. Dark circles may lessen in appearance.  Interesting yes? It works for me!

Until next time! Stay cool!
